Topeka Transit Bus DriverThe Topeka Metropolitan Transit Authority provides bus service and works with other organizations to meet mass transit needs. Please read the following information:

Hours

Fixed Route Service

Monday to Friday - 5:45 a.m. to 6:15p.m.
Saturday - 7:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.

The Lift Service

The Lift provides door-to-door public transportation for persons who are unable to use the fixed route service due to a disability. For information on Lift eligibility, call 783-7000.

Evening and Sunday Reservation Service

Topeka Transit offers evening service Monday through Saturday from 6:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m., and Sunday service from 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. This is a curb-to-curb service with a fare of $3.50 per person one way.

Fixed Route passes and transfers are not accepted on this service. Reservations are required by 5:00 p.m. on the day before the ride. Sunday and Monday reservations are required by 5:00 p.m. on the Friday before the ride. For information, call 783-7000.

How to Ride

Please arrive at the bus stop five (5) minutes early and be prepared to show the driver your pass, ticket or exact change -- and ID card, if paying a reduced fare.

To depart the bus, push the yellow strip or pull cord (located by the windows) approximately one block before your desired stop.

Smoking, food, drink, radios, tape players and pets (except guide animals) are prohibited on buses and in the Quincy Street Station.

Tickets are available for purchase at the Quincy Street Station, by mail, at all Dillon’s grocery stores, and at HyVee.

(Must show Topeka Transit ID for reduced fare)

Monthly passes are valid for unlimited rides only on fixed route service from the first to the last day of the month. Passes are available for purchase at the Quincy Street Station, by mail, at all Dillon’s grocery stores, and at HyVee. Call 783-7000 for more information.

Because operators do not make change, you must have exact fare, ticket, or monthly pass (and reduced ID) ready when boarding a vehicle.
