Transit General Manager
The Topeka Metropolitan Transit Authority is seeking a professional Transit General Manager to oversee all functions of a public transit agency with an annual operating budget of $8.1 million and 94 employees. The General Manager will serve the agency by providing overall leadership and effective management while adhering to the policies and directions of the Board of Directors, as well as all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Public Administration, Planning, or Transportation. Five (5) years of experience in a senior management position. Demonstrated ability to lead effectively and to direct subordinate management and support staff. Knowledge of grant and budget development and administration. Experience in project planning and management, labor relations, and contract development. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and a valid driver’s license. Occasional travel may be required.
SALARY RANGE: $70,000 – $105,000

Bus Operator
Topeka Metro is seeking Bus Operators to provide safe and courteous public transit service. Full-time and Part-time positions are available.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
* Possess or ability to obtain a Class B CDL with air brakes and passenger endorsements
* Able to pass a DOT physical
* Able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
* Able to operate all revenue vehicles in fleet
* Knowledge of or ability to learn city streets and bus routes
* Able to work various shifts, including split shifts, weekends, and overtime when required
* High school diploma or GED required
* Verifiable steady work history
* Training wage: $10.89/hr.; After 30 months: $18.15/hr.

Customer Service Specialist
Topeka Metro is seeking Customer Service Specialists to provide bus route and service information to the public, schedule ride requests, and sell bus passes at Quincy Street Station. Full-time and Part-time positions are available.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
* Prior customer service experience
* Excellent oral, written and personable phone communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn scheduling software
* Able to accurately maintain cash drawer and prepare daily deposits
* High school diploma or GED required
* Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screen
* Verifiable steady work history
* Able to work various shifts, including split shifts, weekends, and overtime when required
* Starting wage: $10.00/hr
